This past Sunday my friend Christy, goddaughter Ruby and I visited Alstede Farms in Chester New Jersey. This was our first visit to a pumpkin patch. We were super excited to see what it was all about. When you arrive at the farm you are greeted by a petting zoo with sheep, horses, baby goats, chickens and ducks. There was also live music and tons of yummy foods made with farm fresh ingredients.

Ruby had the best time playing in the pumpkin patch. We got lucky with the most beautiful fall day. The weather was in the 60’s and gorgeous. If you are going for a visit, I suggest getting to the farm earlier in the afternoon because there are tons of fruits and veggies to pick and awesome shopping in the farm store.

There are two options to get to the pumpkin patch once you are in the farm. You can either walk which is about ½ mile trek or take a hayride. Of course we opted for the hayride! Which was so much fun and the scenary was just breath taking.

You know I couldn’t resist grabbing some goodies on out way out. I bought the blueberry peach pie which was absolutely one of the most delicious pies I’ve ever eaten! I highly recommend it. I also bought farm fresh apple cider and apple cinnamon donuts that were equally as delicious.

I definitely recommend a visit to Alstede Farms if you are in the New York New Jersey area. It is such a fun activity for the entire family.
